They started the season with Avery the #1 guy and Harper the #2. For the first three games both were pretty solid and received equal PT - one might say that Harper was looking better. However, Harper went down with a torn ACL during the third game. Enter Doug Martin. <br /><br />Martin started the season on defense as the 2nd string nickelbacker. He got RB reps during garbage time, but that was it. After Harper went down he started to take a lot more reps (with the exception for a 4 game stretch when he wasn&#39;t 100% and he only totaled 17 carries). &quot;Mad Doug&quot; runs angry. He rushed for over 100 yards in four games and had two 4 TD games. Boise State fans want him to touch the ball every play. He gets the offense rolling when they have struggled at times.<br /><br />Also, Boise State has had four backs rush for over 100 yards in a game this season.
