Meet the Future Frogs: Ethan Perry

Another future Frog you'll be able to watch in Saturday's US Army All-America Game is Ethan Perry, a 6'4" 220lb punter from Smithson Valley, just outside of San Antonio. I guess you've got to get a punter that big to fill Anson Kelton's shoes, huh?

As a junior in 2010, Perry averaged 42.8 yards a punt on his way to being named the 1st Team All-State punter for 4A. He was able to improve on that figure this past fall, averaging 43.6 yards a senior- although that was only good for being named Honorable Mention All-State. Maybe it was a good year for punters in 4A football this season?

He also played some tight end for Coach Larry Hill at Smithson Valley, and caught 10 passes for 165 yards and 2 TDs as a senior. Some might be intrigued at the possibility of a punter who can moonlight as a pass-catcher, but I'm just happy to see that we'll have a versatile athlete booming the ball down the field in the hopefully-rare occurrence that the offense stalls out in the next 4-5 years.

Here are his junior-year highlights:

Daily Discussion: Frogs in the NFL Playoffs

The NFL Playoffs begin on Saturday, and there are six former Frogs vying to win Super Bowl XLVI, which will be played in Indianapolis on February 5th. Andy Dalton has quarterbacked the Bengals into the postseason as a rookie and will face the Texans in Houston on Saturday, while the other five are on teams with first-round byes: Marcus Cannon and Malcolm Williams of the Patriots, Marshall Newhouse and Herbert Taylor of the Packers, and Colin Jones of the 49ers.

So today's daily discussion is, essentially, just asking you for your predictions on the NFL playoffs- albeit in terms of the TCU alumni participating in them. How far do you think each of the former Frogs will make it in the postseason, and which of them have the best chance to put a Super Bowl ring on their finger?
