Finally Some Good News...

Despite suffering a knee injury late in the Oklahoma State game, it appears that Trevone Boykin will be starting Saturday against West Virginia.  Hopefully he's not too hobbled and slowed down by his leg injury because with the weather that has been pummeling that part of the country over the past few days, we are certainly going to need to be able to run the ball.  Having said that, I still think Boykin at less than 100% still gives this team the best chance to win.  Now let's make sure to get him moving out of the pocket a little bit to prevent those passes from being swatted down at the line.

One more small nugget of good news:  it appears that Stansly Maponga will also give it a go on Saturday, although I am sure he will be very, very limited.  Let's hope he can make some sort of an impact and take some attention of of Devonte Fields and the front 4 can create some pressure on Geno Smith.  Finally things seem to maybe be going our way, even if it's just a little bit.

What exactly is/was Maponga's injury? I missed that.

Trying to think of West Virginia Sandy joke.

I know he's been out a few weeks, but wasn't sure what exactly was wrong. Foot injuries can be brutal. Did he break it or is it more of a soft tissue thing?

I haven't heard specifics -- But GP said he was going to have to have surgery on it once the year was over.

Really not sure. Seems similar to what's going on with DeMarco Murray.
