There's a jackass I met through a friend (and fellow TCU alum) who is a die hard Tech fan/alum. He graduated in 2009 with a degree in some sort of communications field. He interned for 10 months at a sports station to learn how to produce sports talk shows. He delivered pizzas from 1998-2005. Since 2005 he does this for Jason's Deli: "Deliver Food, Catering, Bag Food(C&P To Go). Put together treys. Put away truck and produce. Jack of all things really." Treys.... yes... treys. Before, during, and after being at Tech... delivery guy.
Tech really should just make "Food Delivery" a major.
Ha... I am game for a little back and forth bantering on how shitty our school is, how we all use drugs and are spoiled rich kids... (I for a fact paid my way through college... worked construction and other blue collar jobs). But go back and read some comments from earlier today and you can see just how butt hurt some people actually are. But you dragging someone's personal life into an argument does not really fit the bill. It is just a bunch of banter between fans who guess what... have no influence on the game
I have removed the Tech hate because someone is personally attacking the author and threatening him. Way to get so butt hurt that you have ruined a fun exchange between fans. Unbelievably pathetic the extreme level that these fans have taken this.
I hear you, and agree to a point. BUT...my point is that you can't just flame something someone finds important to them and then expect no recourse by claiming it as a "joke". That's all really.
Again, I'm sure owning a car wash is as fruitful as it can be. I don't personally own my own business because to be honest it sounds like way too much work, and dealing with people to me. :)
If you go back and look at what I wrote, I never just went all out at Mr. Fincher for what he does for a living, just merely drew him offsides a bit to make a point. I think I did ok with that too.
I get the point of the initial blog that was written. Was all in good fun, and while I personally didn't take offense to it, I didn't think getting out of it was as easy as saying it was simply a joke. There were a lot of things said in it that could have been taken very personally by anyone associated with Tech or the city of Lubbock. So, let's not act as though what I said about a car wash was such a bad thing in comparison, when in fact it paled in comparison.
Again, I'll be at the game Saturday...very much looking forward to it. Hope it's a good one and appreciate the passion from fans on both sides of this thing.
I get your point but it is a different animal (not PO'd or anything) but to see some people start threatening a guy over some silly bullshit created just to make jabs at someone is ridiculous. I guess everyone has their crazy fans... I just hope none of those guys show up to the game and start shit (one of my tech friends says they are worried about how tech might react if they lose)
As for the personal attack/threat, if that's truly taking place, then that is just someone who doesn't know when to just let things go. They clearly need help.
Again, I do appreciate what you do on your site here for you and your fans. I do think though that you will find it hard not to get some sort of response out of fans/alumni from some of the schools you trash in good fun each week. You said SMU and Baylor fans took it better than Tech did, which seems a bit obvious. Maybe we can chalk this up to SMU and Baylor "fans" not caring as much about their team? Who knows?
Either way...it probably is best that you took the original post down if someone or some folks couldn't handle it.
JHale, as you say, everyone definitely has their crazy fans. Tech definitely has no shortage of these. It just sucks because it's those few that give the rest of us a bad name.
We live every season with people talking about us throwing batteries at players and punching people in the stands. The latter always comes up from Aggy and they were actually punching each other. There's photographic evidence...but then again, that's just Aggy being Aggy. I sure as hell hope there isn't anyone stupid enough to start something physical or be confrontational on Saturday, but once the beer starts flowing it's bound to happen. Hopefully nothing gets too out of hand and everyone can just have a good time.
I sat next to a girl that got hit in the head with an orange when we played in Lubbock. An orange? Every school talks trash to one another, and this site has been doing the same things for over 5 years now. It welcomes other fans to talk trash BC that's the point. But to go to the extent of identifying the author and making threats is stupid. That has never happened on this site. The attacks are out of hand and way overboard. It's a freaking blog for fucks sake.
Totally agree on the threats. That's just stupid and I personally don't agree with that no matter what's said about my school. As for identifying folks, unfortunately it isn't that hard to do these days. Just look at Matt's post in regards to me and there you go. Still, making threats over anything like this is just silly and anyone who would do so needs help.
I'd like to request that the post by Matt be deleted, but knowing that is up to the owner of the blog, I can't do anything other than make that request.
Appreciate it and understand, but that's why I didn't take anything too far, as it isn't my style to begin with, but in light of folks taking things too far I thought it might be best to remove it. Thx.
If it so pleases you, allow the casual observer to opine for a moment. Let me preface these words by saying I am a graduate of Tech and stumbled upon this blog via the facebook machine earlier this week. First, I'm all for some good banter and shit talking the week before a game. Without it, the games wouldn't mean as much to the every day fan. I mean hell, we all know neither of our teams are going to even sniff a conference title, but here we are yelling at one another like its the first week in January. It's great and I love it. Second, one has to keep in mind with the capabilities of today's technology, that it is not very difficult to obtain IP addresses and names associated, etc. All too often people forget that once they hit that send button, that the internet is FOREVER. Sure, you can tell the guy that called whoever out by name that it's not cool, it's just a blog, and to chill out. But guess what, there's shitloads of crazy people out there! Look at Alabama/Auburn a few years ago. The backwoods sister-fornicator that killed the trees at Toomer's Corner is a perfect example. If you haven't heard about it, look it up. Some people will take it to extremes. You can sit back all you want and complain about it, but once you hit the reply button, you damn well better be ready to deal with whatever consequences might come your way. It doesn't make it right, it's just the way it is and if you can't accept that and want to complain and cry about it, you might consider another hobby. I prefer model air planes and trap shooting! (Great stress relief) The fact of the matter is both schools are fine institutions of higher ecucation. I recently graduated and had 5 job offers. People forget that your field of study has a hell of a lot more to do with how green the grass is in your career than where you went to college. Bottom line, every school has their crazies, and one has to learn to accept responsibility for their actions. Sarcasm and tongue-in-cheek references don't translate well through text. As for the game, I can't comment on TCU as I haven't seen anything other than what I've seen on ESPN this week. I can tell you for a fact that our guys just love to come out more flat than a 10 year old after a big win. I imagine it'll come down to who has the ball last and turnover differential. Have a good weekend folks!

Oh, and I remembered this one from last year. Not 100% current, but last year's Tech record didn't improve anything the post covered.

Watch how you talk about Tech, it is ranked higher than MIT according to this:

I ordered Domino's and this guy was the delivery guy. I did not tip.
AVOID THE NOID

Good grief. Well that just about makes me burnt out on bantering. He is as much fun as our buddy Kentjorg on ESPN

Skeptical Frog should probably learn how to spell "tray" correctly before bashing...you have no idea how stupid you look. Ironic much?
