I know this sounds crazy, but think about it for a second. What if the administration went after Nancy Lieberman? She took the year off from coaching the D-League and is in the front office there, so there are no contract issues. You would get a solid coach that brings in huge headlines (shoot, they are making a major movie about her), she's certainly got the NBA connections to be a force for recruiting, she's in the area, and her sons have played high school basketball in DFW - meaning she probably knows DFW area high school coaches well, and she has great relationships with major media folks. For a "splash" hire, she'd be great.
I'm not sure Ms. Lieberman is the right choice, but I like where you're going with the Mavs connection, Thunder. Remember, Donnie Nelson's daughter goes to TCU- he might be a valuable resource for Del Conte as they perform their search.
@Snk - considering she was a GM and coach for the men's NBA Development league - I think she could sell a lot of parents and kids on the idea that she knows how to "develop" a kid into an NBA player...'Twas just a thought...

Methinks that's a horrible idea. No offense to women, but do 18 year olds REALLY wanna come play for a female coach. Child please.
