Looks like WVU is a go

The question of whether or not West Virginia will be joining the Big 12 in time for the 2012-2013 school year appears to have been answered, as Brett McMurphy of CBS Sports is reporting that the Mountaineers and Big East officials are close to a settlement that would allow WVU to pay an exit fee of $20 million in order to leave immediately.

If this comes to pass- and it certainly looks like it will- it would leave the Big East with just seven football-playing members for next year. There is a possibility that the league could get one of its confirmed future members (SMU, Houston, Central Florida, Memphis, or Navy) to bolt from their current conference immediately to fill the gap. Then again, you may see Big East teams getting very creative with their 2012 schedules, such as the suggest concept of Rutgers and Syracuse playing each other twice next year.

Sounds pretty weird, doesn't it? But not my chair, not my problem...right?

Not so fast!
Sounds like its hit a roadblock according to USA Today. Is there a published deadline where the B12 moves forward without WVU for 2012?

SNK is working on a post about Corby right now, I believe. I think it'll be up either tonight or tomorrow morning, because SNK lives where there is no internetz so he has to mail things to us and then we type them into our computras.

Yes. In the works for tomorrow. It will be so braggy and pompous about how great we are that the few of you who still like me might turn on me.
