Wisconsin loses another Rose Bowl

Hmmmm, maybe it's a Big Ten thing?

After having to listen to the overconfident and overweight Badger fans telling me how the Frogs had zero chance before last year's Rose Bowl, and then reading their excuses for months afterward on the Wisconsin message boards, I have to say I wasn't sorry to see them go down again in Pasadena yesterday, 45-38 against Oregon.

Hey Brett Bielema, maybe instead of fussing with that ridiculous hair gel and running up the score against Indiana or Purdue, you should learn your clock management skills from someone other than Jason Garrett. Your team played a pretty good game, but calling a timeout to challenge a meaningless call and then not understanding that 2 seconds isn't long enough to spike the ball cost them victory.

And hey, with LaMichael James heading off to the NFL, maybe Wisconsin can attempt a measure of revenge by asking Oregon to cancel an already-scheduled game to come play the Badgers in Madison without a return trip to Eugene? If the Ducks decline, your dough-faced, nasal-voiced fans can all claim that they're scared!

In all seriousness, though, congratulations to Oregon. Knowing how big a deal it is to win in Pasadena- especially to those west coast schools- it was cool to see the Ducks celebrate their first Rose Bowl victory since 1917.

Bravo.

Bielema is the worst time-management coach in America. His poor use of timeouts in both Rose Bowls may have cost him both games.

Every time the camera was on him, my hand went above my head in that stupid "uncatchable" motion that is forever is seared into my brain.

Yeah, I just went and looked at a BADgers board... they still take shots at TCU even after losing to Oregon.

Looking at the overall stats and history of Wisconsin, they really don't have much to brag about over us. In fact, they seem to be kinda comparable to Texas A&M or Tech. Never 100% relevant, never 100% irrelevant. Just kind there...

Has anybody else noticed that Bielema bears a striking resemblance to Brutus Buckeye?

Future Daily Discussion Question:
Now that we're going Big 12, what are our Top 10 most hated non-conference opponents? The first one is a no brainer, but who are the other nine?

I'm a bit too lazy to think up 10, but I'll take a whack at 5:
1. SMU
2. Boise
3. BYU
4. aTm
5. Utah

Limiting it to our now non-conference opponents limits the field quite a bit IMO. I imagine you throw tOSU in there just for Gee's comment and I still hate Southern Miss quite a bit.

Curious to see other responses...

My sister is currently getting her pHd and masters at Wisconsin. She wasn't there last year and her undergrads football team was D3 and never won a game.

I was happy for her to go to a school that has a relevant program.

Having said that, I kind of rooted for Wisconsin all year in her honor.

I couldn't afford to go the Rose Bowl last year and was so drunk and happy and elated at home that I could have cared less if a Wiscy fan came up and punched me in the face after we won.

We won, they didn't. They can talk all the shit and make all the excuses they want, we still won the 2011 Rose Bowl.
