Daily Discussion: Fan Experience

The Prop Joe side of the stadium is now torn down, and by the end of the summer we'll have realized the dream of having a completely new football stadium. The plans for the building are most likely completely done, but the fan experience once it's built is mostly a blank slate at this point.

A "Seating Summit" is being held next Tuesday evening at Daniel-Meyer, at which school officials will discuss with fans the new pricing structure for football tickets amongst other things. The big rumor, for a while, has been that the student section will be moved to approximately where Section V was in the old stadium.

So here's your daily discussion for the day. How much do you plan on having to pay for season tickets next year and going forward? Where do you think common folk like us will be sitting in the new stadium? What other fan experience features would you like to see incorporated in the new Amon G?

The TCU student section is going to be on the visitor side lower bowl from endzone to 50 yard line.

I have a kid, so I'm looking to sit on the alumni side in the shade.

The TCU Lettermen's Hall of Fame is currently in the Ex-Lettermen's room at Daniel Meyer. Not a bad idea though to put the Football HOF in the new stadium.

I heard they were looking at making the student section the East side lower level from 20 to 20.

I would expect season tickets in the $200+ range for 20-20 reserve, $150+ for endzones. Maybe a young alumni discount, similar to Baylor. Single game tickets at $85-50 each.

Move the visitors to the parking lot! I hated those 4 rows added in front of row 6! (Sec V, Row 6 was great in the past!) Crazy to give visitors seats between the 40s - even they couldn't believe where they got to sit!
I'm thinking just north of $300 for 20<>20 lower.

2010 Section V Season Ticket - $210

2011 Section V Season Ticket - $275

2012 Section V Season Ticket - $5,000 plus a $75k seat license fee...

Section V is dead. As a former Section V Member I hate to say it...

Why are we expecting ticket prices to skyrocket? I expect them to go up a little because of the conference switch, but it's not like they're having to fund the stadium with ticket sales and I'm sure none of the donors are asking for a monetary return on their investment. We don't have that great of a history of putting butts in seats so I think they'll at least hold prices down these next few years so they don't drive anyone away.

Completely ridiculous idea: It looks like there is kind of a flat base behind the North side of the Upper Deck. Let's get a giant Horned Frog up there that shoots red fireworks out of its eyes every time we score!

Oh i really hope ticket prices don't go up too much...as it is I can usually only afford to get to one game a year. If tickets go up to $50+ a pop - it'll be more like every 3 years.
