Reminder: Rose Bowl Celebration on Sunday

Just a reminder that you've got one more chance to celebrate TCU's 21-19 win over Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl, as the school is holding a special ceremony to honor the team this Sunday inside Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. A few things to remember:

-Doors open at 2:30pm, event starts at 4:00pm (they are expecting a full house, so you'll want to arrive early)

-The event is FREE, although you may end up spending some money on concessions and/or Rose Bowl memorabilia.

-If you can't make it, the event will be televised live by WFAA, and broadcast on the radio live on both WBAP and KTCU.

Bowl Game TV Numbers are Out

Today's Birmingham News had an article discussing the TV ratings for the just-completed bowl season, and some discussion on why all five of the BCS games saw a decline from last year. The simple answer: because they were on cable, and not everyone has cable. TCU-Wisconsin, while not quite as watched as the previous year's Rose Bowl between Ohio State and Oregon, was the second-most watched game this bowl season. It also actually out-performed the 2008 game between USC and Illinois, which was still on regular ABC and not ESPN. Here's the whole list:

Meet the Future Frogs: Dominic Merka

Following Laderice Sanders' commitment on March 29th, the Frogs' recruiting class stayed at five members for over a month before adding #6, Crosby QB Dominic Merka.

Merka, who is listed at either 6'4" or 6'5" and 220lbs with a 4.6 forty, was the starting quarterback at Crosby for three seasons, amassing 4,941 passing yards, 2,714 rushing yards and 60 total touchdowns. That combination of size, speed and versatility means everyone has a different idea of what position he'll play at the next level- Rivals decided to stay out of that argument, simply labeling him as an "athlete". Although Coach Patterson and his staff will have final say, watch his video and let us know what you think:
