Tosh.0 Takes a Shot at TCU

Daniel Tosh posted this video on his facebook page a couple of hours ago. His cheap shot is neither timely nor valid since we just won the Rose Bowl over a powerhouse from a "real" conference, but let him know that you don't appreciate it in the video's comment section.

Get your mind out of the gutter, DP stands for Dan Patrick. Patterson was on the Dan Patrick show this morning, if you don't already listen to this show you should start. It is the best national sports morning show around. Plus it's on at the same time as Cowterd and he blows.

Rose Bowl celebration planned

TCU will hold a celebration for the football team's Rose Bowl win and 13-0 season on Sunday, January 16th at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. I would've preferred a ticker-tape parade in downtown Fort Worth, but I understand the logistics of planning something like that are probably fairly challenging. This will still end up being a very cool event, I would imagine- and I hope there will be plenty of recruits in town for it.

Frogs vs. #6 San Diego State tonight

While the football team was out in California making history, Jim Christian's basketball Frogs were limping to the end of their non-conference schedule with back-to-back losses against Rice and Tulsa and a 9-6 overall record. Guards Hank Thorns and Tuffy Moss were both hurt during that stretch, and Moss' status (with a concussion) is not known going forward.

They start their second-to-last Mountain West season tonight, when undefeated and sixth-ranked San Diego State visits Fort Worth. The Aztecs are the first Top 10 team to come to Daniel-Meyer since #1 Kansas in 2003, and have made the media who picked them first in the league preseason look smart. The Frogs, who many thought could be the surprise team in the MWC this year, may have that tag taken from them by Colorado State, writes Diamond Leung of ESPN.

As of now, ESPN's Joe Lunardi sees three MWC schools making the tournament (SDSU, BYU and UNLV), along with ten Big East teams- further illustrating the importance of progress being made before the conference switch. Southern Cal, whom TCU beat by double-digits earlier this season, is also picked to make the field of 68- so there is some promise for this team.

Frogs hope to land Townsend tonight

With National Signing Day just a few weeks from now, tonight will be a pivotal moment in the formation of the Recruiting Class of 2011. Greg Townsend, Jr, the son of former Horned Frog & four-time All-Pro defensive end for the Raiders Greg Townsend, will make his college destination known at the Under Armour All-American Game, which will be on ESPN at 6:00pm. His final three schools are thought to be TCU, Miami and USC.
