Thanksgiving Day TCU Football?

With Texas A&M's departure to the SEC, it's all but certain that the tradition of Texas and Texas A&M playing each other on Thanksgiving Day will be going away. But UT athletic director DeLoss Dodds doesn't want to give up hosting a game on Turkey Day every other year-- and in fact, he wants to host one every year.

In this article from the Dallas Morning News, Dodds suggets that the Longhorns could host rotation of in-state opponents on Thanksgiving Day- including TCU, Texas Tech and Baylor.

What do you think? Would it be cool to watch the Frogs play on Thanksgiving Day, or would you be disgusted at giving in to Texas' "me! me! me!" attitude?

That's bullshit.

Give me a home Thanksgiving game back or else.

No one wants to be in Austin on Thanksgiving unless they have family there.

A rotation isn't tradition and I would prefer to not have to play tx on a short week every three years. So, unless they want to do just us I say screw 'em.

I don't like playing them at their place on thanksgiving on a short week very much at all.

I also haven't put too much thought into it so I might be wrong, but I don't see how it would logistically work if it was just TCU, Tech and Baylor. Currently Texas played Tech at Home this year and are playing @ Baylor later this season. As football schedules go, those games would switch next year and it wouldn't matter if TCU played them home or away next year, with a 3 team rotation, it wouldn't line up to where they could neatly rotate each team. One of those teams would get stuck playing Texas every other year @ texas on thanksgiving with no return thanksgiving game. That doesn't sound much like a good deal if you ask me.

The good news is, one of those teams wouldn't be us. We would only end up playing Texas on thanksgiving every 4 seasons or so

Oh please please please can we have the honor and privilege of playing Texas on Thanksgiving day!!!!

We are the ugly flag girl that's getting her panties wet because the star high school quarterback is looking our way.

I'll pass because like everything Texas does it's probably a one-way street.

If it's a true home and home tradition then I say bring it on, especially if it's a Friday game.

Thursday away games seem to be the demise of Frog football (see Southern Miss circa 2003; see also Utah circa 2008).

Oh HELL NO. What a bunch of arrogant, self-serving, delusional turds.

Fuck no. The Cowboys play on Thanksgiving and I don't want to be flipping channels.

Thursday games have been a disaster for TCU historically. Besides, I don't think UT would EVER play their Turkey Day game at AGC.

Faggitabowit!

Don't give a longhorn's ass about playing in Austin on Thanksgiving if we don't also play them in Fort Worth on Thanksgiving. But honestly, I'd just as soon see UT's Thanksgiving tradition die if they aren't playing A&M.
Now if Baylor wanted a back and forth Turkey Day thing, I could go for that.

Rotten Arsenal I agree forget UT. Lets play the Bears on Turkey Day!

Unless RGIII clones himself, I think the gaylors will settle back into mediocrity (at best) after this season. And that's probably a good reason to have them as a Turkey Day rival - relatively easy travel for all involved and almost a guaranteed W.
