This Weekend's Games of Interest

Boise State (4-0) at Fresno State (2-3) ~ 8:00pm Friday on ESPN
-I feel like I've spent every Friday night for the past four years occasionally checking the score of a bar TV while Boise State played (and beat) Fresno State on ESPN, so it's nice to not really have to care anymore. And at least it'll be played on green grass, right?

Air Force (3-1) at Notre Dame (3-2) ~ 2:30pm Saturday on NBC
-Notre Dame sure did a good jump of taking a dump all over TCU's biggest regular season win of 2010, so hopefully that will not become a pattern. Beware a letdown performance by the Falcons, who put themselves in the driver's seat for this year's Commander in Chief's Trophy by beating Navy in overtime in Annapolis last week.

Wyoming (3-1) at Utah State (1-3) ~ 7:00pm Saturday on ESPN3.com
-The 3-0 start by the Cowboys came to a screeching halt last week with a 38-14 loss to Nebraska in Laramie. The Huskers ran for 333 yards in that one, and the Aggies are averaging just over 300 ground yards a game, so Doo-Doo Brown needs to improve along the defensive front if they want to reach 4-1.

UNLV (1-3) at Nevada (1-3) ~ 6:00pm Saturday on ESPN3.com
-Bobby Hauck and his Rebels had last weekend off to think about their 41-16 loss to Southern Utah. Raise your hand if you knew Southern Utah existed....ok, didn't think so. Anyway, they'll now try to beat in-state rival Nevada for the first time in seven tries in what will become a conference rivalry next season.

Colorado State (3-2) and New Mexico (0-5) are idle this week.

TCU non-conference opponents:

Baylor (3-1) vs. Iowa State (3-1) ~ 6:00pm Saturday on FSN
-Robert Griffin is human after all, having thrown a crucial interception that allowed Kansas State to come back to beat the Bears in Manhattan last Saturday. In their attempt to show they belong near the top of the Big 12, they'll try to match UT's blow out of ISU when the Cyclones travel to Waco...which I assume is a pretty exciting place if you're from Iowa.

BYU (3-2) vs. San Jose State (2-3) ~ 9:15pm Saturday on ESPN U
-Ruh roh, is that the smell of a QB controversy in Provo? Much-heralded sophomore Jake Heaps had led the Cougars to a 2-2 record and a slow start last Friday against Utah State before Riley Nelson came in to lead them to a comeback win in the final seconds. San Jose State is coming off back-to-back wins over New Mexico State and Colorado State.

Louisiana-Monroe (1-3) vs. Arkansas State (3-2) ~ 6:00pm Saturday
-A treacherous non-conference schedule that included trips to play at Florida State, TCU and Iowa is finally behind the Warhawks, who can now focus on their Sun Belt schedule. That starts this week against Arkansas State, who is 1-0 in conference play after coming back to beat Western Kentucky in the last minute on the road last week.

Portland State (3-1) vs. Montana State (4-1) ~ 3:00pm Saturday
-Pretty big game for the Vikings, who'll be playing for sole possession of first place in the Big Sky Conference a week after a thrilling 42-35 road win over Idaho State last week. Montana State's only loss of the year was a 27-10 setback at Utah in the season opener.

SMU (4-1)
is idle this weekend.

Hahaha, yeah right!

I found this hilarious. I know the NCAA is trying to crack down, but c'mon.

Side note: Anyone see LaMichael dislocate his elbow (in slow motion) last night. Ouch!

Yeah, that was awful. The worst part was Herbstreet was like "Let's wait and see if this guy returns to this game"

Other side note: Anyone hear the Tony Romo Has a Vagina song on The Ticket this morning.
