This has nothing to do with TCU, and I'm sure by now most of you have already read this. If you haven't, though, I highly recommend taking a few minutes to read both of the stories put out by Yahoo! Sports about Nevin Shapiro, the convicted felon and former Miami booster that is bringing to light some NCAA rules violations that are like nothing we've seen since SMU got the death penalty:
I can't say what exactly the NCAA will do to Miami based on this, but when you consider that USC got massive scholarship reductions and a two-year bowl ban for transgressions that pale in comparison to what has allegedly happened at Miami...it would appear that the Hurricanes have a long road back to being "The U" again...if ever. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say the NCAA will do everything short of shutting this program down...although I bet that option is on the table.
The moral of the story is to, as much as you might love the Frogs and want to support the program in any way possible, not be an idiot like this guy. Being friendly and giving drunken high-fives to players at bars is one thing, but believing they are actually your friends because you toss money at them is quite another.
