Purke selected by Washington

Four picks after Kevin Cron was picked by Seattle, Matt Purke became the first current Frog to be selected when the Washington Nationals took him with the sixth pick of the 3rd Round- 96th overall. There's a rumor that, despite the time he missed this year and the fact that he's slipped so far in the draft, Purke will still demand the type of big money that he did two years ago from the Rangers. This will definitely be something to watch as the summer progresses...

Just a hunch, but third round money compared to first round money may mean one year of Matt Purke pitching in a Frogs uniform! Please Lord, let him stay! No Winkler yet either, I think the same thing may apply?

If they can sign him then the Nats have a nice young team shaping up with Strausburg, Harper, Rendon and Purke. Now, I'd rather see Purke in Lupton again but if not I'll gladly take him in DC.
