The Frogs continue their season-long thirteen-game homestand tonight with a visit from the Lumberjacks of Stephen F. Austin.
Taking a page out of the Rangers' book, Coach Schlossnagle will give his closer a look as a starting pitcher as Erik Miller is slated to take the mound this evening. Miller has had an up & down season at the back end of the bullpen so far, but it's his bad outings that show up in his stats: 0-4 with a 5.17 ERA in 11 appearances. Some might question putting such an inconsistent pitcher into the rotation, but HornedFrogSports.com's David Peterson will tell you why this is a good idea.
We're not yet sure whether this move is a permanent one, but it would appear that Schloss is turning to Plan B for replacing Kaleb Merck. It may end up that Miller regains his job as closer, but for now I would look for one of the two super freshmen- Andrew Mitchell or Stefan Crichton- to take over that role.
