Well it seems that the TCU/BYU showdown is picking up some steam. According to this article from ESPN Dallas, the two schools are still working out the logistics to set the matchup, which could potentially be played on Friday of Thanksgiving weekend. This is the first mention of the matchup that I've seen other than on this site. And remember, Spitbloodtcu.com broke the news to you before ESPN did, which I find very amusing.

I'd love it if the MWC would help us shift our schedule around to avoid having to play this game on Thanksgiving weekend, but I'm not holding my breath for any favors from them.
I thought I read somewhere we would play Boise that Saturday. I agree with you Lyle, don't see the MWC doing us any favors. It's not like we brought them BCS money the last two years or anything.
Part of me wants it to be a BYU home game so we don't have to watch it be relegated to the mtn.
Congrats to SpitBlood for breaking the story. You deserve your 6 figure salary like your ESPN counterparts.
This game is better than New Mexico on Thanksgiving weekend again. And if the Evil Empire hosts it, well, more national coverage is always good. Hell, it could be fun whipping the Mormons again. Then (speculation from the ESPN article) a week off and a trip to Boise on "Championship Saturday" It could turn out to be a decent non-conference schedule if TCU can get Cal (to offset the addition of Lamar)
Hey guys - correct me if I'm wrong - but it said in those ESPN articles that we only had 2 spaces to fill in our scheudle - since we are playing 5 non-conference games and Tech dropped doesn't that mean 3 spaces - was there a game added somewhere?
Thanks
You are right. From what I've heard, the other games are UL-M and an FCS school, presumably Lamar. Along with BYU, that would fill our 3 open spots.
janorman74, you are correct. ESPN is WRONG. TCU needs 5 OOC games:
- Baylor and SMU are scheduled
- BYU is speculated (by SpitBlood and ESPN)
- Lamar is speculated (by Beaumont Enterprise in the Moring Dump)
TCU still needs 1 more (or 3 more if BYU and Lamar don't happen)
Star-Telegram is saying BYU will not happen Thanksgiving weekend, but a match up with the Cougars is likely. They're also saying the Frogs are in negotiation with another "high profile" team for a neutral site game.

i broke the Lamar story before espn, DMN, FWST, or Beaumont Enterprise heard of Lamar....yall can thank me later
More like 'Boremont'
Crystal Beach University?
I love more speculation...former AD Morrsion (now Carolina Panthers president) tried to get a TCU game in Charlotte against an ACC foe.

I am still rooting for Cal on the west coast somewhere.
Beaumont is paradise......lets make it a home and home.
