A week after Patterson's staff found the second and third members of their recruiting class out in East Texas, they returned to Tarrant County to find #4: Arlington Martin linebacker Deryck Gildon.
Gildon, at 6'2" 205lbs, is listed as a three-star recruit by Rivals, who also ranks him as their #31 outside linebacker in the nation and #65 overall player in the state of Texas. His superior athletcism led Martin coach Bob Wager to use him all over the field- at linebacker, tight end and even tailback en route to a District 4-5A championship this past fall.
He also gets it done in the classroom: having graduated from Martin in December, Gildon is already enrolled at TCU and will be participating in spring practice. And if you end up being a fan of his once he suits up in purple, he's got a younger (but not little) brother- Demetri Gildon played for the Martin varsity this fall as a 6'3" 230lb sophomore.
