2010 TCU Preview from CFN

While the majority of the national media simply ignored TCU up until about midway through last season, the guys at have been paying attention to the Frogs for quite a while, now. They haven't always been in love with them, though- they always seem to hot or cold on TCU...most notably in 2003, when they were among the harshest critics on that year's "a win is a win" Frog team. They fell in love with the '09 squad, though, and appear to be headed down the same road with the 2010 version now that they've recorded their preview of the Frogs this fall.

Bob Slydell says:

"I'd like to move us right along to a Kolby Griffin. Now...we had a chance to meet this young man, and boy...that's just a straight shooter with upper management written all over him."

One of the earliest commitments in the Frogs' 2011 recruiting class was Kolby Griffin from Houston's St. Pius X High School, who pledged to TCU just days after the Class of 2010 signed back in February. Several other schools have offered scholarships to the 5'11", 176lb corner since then, but he has been insistent in his loyalty to the Horned Frogs.

Now, I've gotta be completely honest- I haven't seen this kid play football in person. From what I hear and from what I've seen in his highlight tapes, he's quite the recruiting prize for Coach Patterson and his staff to have landed. But beyond that, there's just something about the way he carries himself and his confidence that makes you feel good that he'll be wearing purple soon.
