Frogs sweep Utah

Steven Maxwell struck out eight in eight strong innings of work to improve to 7-0 on the season as the Frogs finished a three-game road sweep of Utah with an 8-2 win on Sunday afternoon.

Senior catcher Bryan Holaday was, in the words of Dan Patrick "simply...en fuego" this weekend, going 6-for-15 with three home runs, three doubles and seven runs batted in. Not a bad little weekend at the plate. In Sunday's game, Taylor Featherston also homered and Jason Coats had a grand slam that really broke the game open.

With this week being finals week at TCU, the Frogs will not play a midweek game. They'll take their 34-9 overall record (and 14-3 conference mark) on the road next weekend, however, with a very important road series against 2nd-place New Mexico.

Bringin' home the hardware

Pretty nice weekend for TCU at the MWC Tennis Championships in Las Vegas, as both the men's and women's teams were surprise winners of conference championships. Then men had been the #4 seed coming into the tournament, while the Lady Frogs were the #6 seed. Both defeated San Diego State by twin 4-3 scores to secure their respective title.
