Holaday leads the way in Game 1 win

For all of the amazing things Bryan Holaday has done in his career at TCU, he'd never had a multiple home run game...until last night. His 3-for-5 night, which included two home runs, a double and four runs batted in led the way as the Frogs took the first game in their road series against Utah with an 11-6 win. Jerome Pena and Jantzen Witte also homered for the Frogs and Matt Purke struck out seven in seven innings of work to improve to 8-0 on the year.

The Frogs got a little more breathing room in the MWC standings. New Mexico, who trailed TCU by just one game coming into the weekend, were beaten by San Diego State 11-0. Kyle Winkler is scheduled to pitch for the Frogs in tonight's game, which starts at 6:00pm Texas time and will be televised live on CBS College Sports.
