D-Wash to New Orleans?

That's what Glenn Guilbeau of the Shreveport Times thinks. He wrote this morning that he expects the Saints to pick an outside linebacker with their first round pick, and that he expects it to be Washington.

Frogs sweep BYU

Thank goodness for Jimmie Pharr. The junior from Flower Mound didn't play much in Saturday's series finale, but he had quite the impact on the game- leading off the top of the 11th with a pinch-hit double before being lifted for a pinch-runner that became the difference in the Frogs' 6-5 win. That finishes off a three-game sweep in Provo, where the Frogs improved to 27-7 overall and 8-3 in MWC play...which puts them in first place.

It's also a good thing BYU doesn't play on Sunday, because the Frogs will get to rest today before playing two games during the week- against Dallas Baptist at Lupton on Monday night and then against OU up in Norman on Tuesday.

Get the speculation machine up & running...

According to numerous reports, officials from the eleven members of the Big Ten are meeting today in Washington to discuss the possibility of expanding their conference. Who knows if any tangible news will come out of this development, but at the very least it ought to drive up traffic numbers for college football blogs and message boards from coast to coast.
