Getting your hopes up...
Watch that video. Like what you see? I thought so. Herschel Sims is one of the most exciting players this state has seen in a while. Last year, he was named 5A Player of the year by Dave Campbell's Texas Football after he and his cousin Ronnell (who plays QB and is also fast as shit) led Abilene High to their first state championship in about 50 years. His top three choices for his college destination? Oklahoma, Southern Cal...and little ol' TCU.
Stadium Renovation Update
So, today I heard some news regarding the new stadium renovations. Now I'm all for the updating, but some of the news I have heard has definitely ruffled some of my feathers. If you are a season ticket holder and are currently seated under the overhang or in the rows in front of where the overhang starts, you are going to lose your seats. Forget if you have had them for the past 15 years, they're gone. Do you get first choice on new seats? Oh no, they go to the big donors. The club seats that are going in front of the suites, where your season tickets might have been on the 50 yard line 40 rows up, are now going to be $4000/ticket. Yes that's right. $4000. Now I don't like bashing our own athletic department or board of trustees, but seriously? We can't sell out a game as it is, and now the board has approved this thing with higher ticket cost. I was expecting some sort of hike in ticket cost, but to this extent is just absurd. For me right now, this doesn't affect me, but it does affect our fans, and I believe alot of those fans are going to be pretty ticked off. I was hoping to someday move to the West side of the stadium, but I know I'm probably not going to dish out $16000 for tickets and alot of other people won't either.
Frogs vs. aggy tonight
While it's been pretty difficult for TCU to convince the Wal-Mart Super Powers to come play them in football, they have been able to lure a few members of the Idiocracy to come play them in roundball. Well, tonight they've got Beef Supreme himself coming to Lupton. That's right- TCU against aggy. Paul Gerrish, who I think we can now call the usual Tuesday night starter, takes the mound for the Frogs. He's been mostly solid since taking over midweek starting duties from Greg Holle, but was not able to get the job done against OU a week ago. His counterpart for aggy will be Nick Fleece, a Fort Worth native who will surely be fired up to pitch in his hometown.
