Frogs move up a spot to #12

Despite dropping the third game of the weekend series against San Diego State, TCU was still able to move up a spot to #12 in this week's Baseball America Top 25. The Frogs' next two opponents at Lupton Stadium were both also ranked in the Top 25, with OU coming in at #19 and A&M at #23.

As I posted late last week, tickets for those games are going fast. Reserved seats are already sold out for next week's game against the Aggies, and the athletic department sent out an email earlier today stating that only a limited number remain for tomorrow night's game against the Sooners. If you end up without a ticket, both games will be on The Mtn...if you're lucky enough to get that at your home.

Before you get too pumped about these Big 12 games, don't overlook the Frogs' weekend series at U of H coming up starting on Friday. The Cougars are playing some good baseball this year, having gone undefeated at the Houston College Classic including a win over UT. This could be a dangerous series for TCU.

Q&A with Jerry Hughes

As Frogzilla comes closer and closer to being a millionaire (Round 1 of the NFL Draft is Thursday night, April the 22nd this year, FYI), he recently sat down with Arthur Arkush of to discuss his time at TCU, his preparation for the draft and much more.

Atchison proves it's never too late

While today is Opening Day for most Major League Baseball clubs, the Yankees and Red Sox got started last night because ESPN couldn't wait to start over-stating the importance of their rivalry. But I bet you didn't know there was a Horned Frog in uniform last night at Fenway, did you?

Scott Atchison, who pitched at TCU from 1994-1998 and had spent the last two seasons in Japan (as pictured above), was a surprise addition to the Red Sox' Opening Day roster. He's pitched in 53 MLB games before in stints with the Mariners and Giants from '04 to '07, but this is the first time he's been a part of an Opening Day MLB roster.
