I usually don't post this until later in the week, but being that strength of schedule is fairly important these days, I wanted to go ahead and give you the run-down before we all head home for Thanksgiving.

Game of the Week:

Oregon State (5-5) at Stanford (10-1)...6:30pm Saturday on Versus
-There are quite a few reasons why this is a big game for TCU. First of all, this would be a huge win for Oregon State...on national TV...which would be great for TCU. It would also get the Beavers to bowl-eligibility. On top of that, it would deal Stanford a major blow in their hopes of snagging an at-large berth in a BCS Bowl, which would increase the Frogs' chances.

The other sort-of Big'un:

SMU (6-5) at East Carolina (6-5)...1:00pm Friday on CBS-College Sports
-With their win over Marshall last Saturday, the Mustangs are now bowl-eligible for the second straight year, becoming the 6th TCU opponent to reach that plateau this year (by comparison, Boise State has played just 4 bowl-eligible teams. Oregon has only played ONE!). With a win this weekend, SMU would win the Western Division of Conference USA and be headed to Orlando to take on Central Florida for the conference title. ECU is coming up a complete ass-whipping at the hands of none other than the Rice Owls, so this one looks like SMU's to lose.

Other MWC games:

BYU (6-5) at Utah (9-2)...2:30pm Saturday on CBS-College Sports and The Mtn
-I guess these conference games are technically a wash in terms of how the computers see strength of schedule, but the human pollsters have definitely showed they are willing to judge the Horned Frogs more by what the Utes do than what the Frogs do themselves. So, still ranked #20 in the country, it'd be nice to see the Utes take care of the Scientologists in this one.

UNLV (2-9) at San Diego State (7-4)...7:00pm Saturday on The Mtn
-If the Aztecs can score 35 points on TCU, they ought to ring up 60 on the hapless Rebels.

-Baylor (7-5) and Air Force (8-4) will await their bowl destinations, while Colorado State (3-9), Wyoming (3-9) and Tennessee Tech (5-6) are done for the year.

Other Games to Keep an Eye On:

Virginia Tech (9-2) vs. Virginia (4-7)...11:00am Saturday on
-It'd be nice for the Cavaliers, who weighed down the Frogs' SOS last year, to pay us back a little with a late-season defeat for the Hokies.

Toledo (7-4) vs. Central Michigan (3-8)...1:00pm Friday
-Again, we're talking about a game that would make a miniscule difference to Boise in the computers, but I think we'll take any little bit we can get. Go Chippewas!
