Cry me a river, Baylor

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read this story in this morning's Star-Telegram:

With Baylor frantic, congressman urges legislature to hold hearings

Alright, Baylor. I understand the desperation, and I understand that you've got to do what you can to keep yourself on the UT payroll. But playing the sympathy card? YOU'VE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME!!!!

When the SWC broke up, Baylor was perfectly willing to put TCU, SMU, Rice and Houston through the "armageddon" that they say this would be for them. I haven't read the Book of Revelations much since that one night when I was 9 and stayed up reading the whole thing and didn't sleep for about two weeks, but I guess there is something about winning a bowl game in there, because all four of the SWC "left-behinds" have been able to accomplish that feat since then, unlike the Bears.

If Baylor can somehow keep themselves on the receiving end of big checks when UT and OU go to BCS bowls, then more power to them. But if you get left in the dust by the state schools, then boo-fucking-hoo. You more than deserve it.

Nice election year stunt by a Congressman whose seat has been targeted by the NRCC. Pandering the voters much?

Oh, and I chose that picture because Baylor is about as cool as Dawson's Creek.

Not exactly relevant to this post, but since this is the most recent post...

Also heard that Del Conte has basically black balled Baylor. Don't know how accurate, but still, freaking awesome if he did.

I hadn't made up my mind on Del Conte to this point, but if your correct Buck than he just shot way up in my book.

Yeah, I'm hearing through some unofficial MWC channels (take it for what it's worth) that TCU has made their dislike of Baylor clear to the league. Not sure the MWC would really be interested in a school that brings nothing AND has talked smack about the whole conference for years anyway.

Baylor presser at 2:15... should be interesting. Of course, I can't be bothered with it since baseball is on.

This reminds me of a first grader having his mom call little jimmy's mom after he wasn't invited to little jimmey's birthday party. Absolutely Pathetic...
Nobody likes you, deal with it.

Presser was a whole lot of nothin'... no surprise. ESPN now saying Texas will say what it's doing by next Tuesday.

Today's Funtime Baylor stat:

There are only 4 teams who have a longer current bowl drought:

1. New Mexico State - 50 years
2. Kent State - 38 Years
3. Eastern Michigan - 18 years
4. Duke - 17 years
5. Baylor - 16 years

So that means that every BCS team has been to a bowl game in the last 20 or so years except Duke and Baylor. At least Duke has a couple of National Championships in Basketball to make up for their lousy football team. Baylor has 2 National Championships as well (Men's Tennis and Women's Basketball), although Duke still beats that with National titles in women's tennis, men's lacrosse, and 5 women's golf titles.
