How costly was the Air Force loss?

It's not often that you can take three of four games over a weekend, clinch the regular-season conference title...and still feel like you might've blown your season. Now, maybe the term "blown your season" is a bit severe, but Saturday's 4-2 loss to Air Force was pretty damaging. The Frogs came into the weekend with an RPI of 13, and have emerged at #20. We'll see how punitive the human polls are when they come out later today, but for now the hopes of securing a Top 8 national seed appear to be dimming a bit.

There was a silver lining of the weekend, besides of course the conference championship trophy. As David Peterson pointed out over at HornedFrogSports.com, the Frogs may have found a more reliable 5th starter in Erik Miller.

In other news, Tuesday's game at UT-San Antonio has been cancelled and will not be made up.

Both wins came against TCU...ouch.

Does anyone else think that the RPI thing is a little bs? I mean come on.

Dropped a spot in the Baseball America poll...#8.

Well sure, Counselor, the RPI is a lot like the computer polls in football. But just like those computer polls in football and the RPI in basketball, it is a major consideration when postseason slots are handed out.

I know, it's just gay. And I need to vent on something since Texas keeps winning.

Might've won that Saturday game if they hadn't made two horrendous baserunning errors in the first inning. Guys on 1st and 2nd, nobody out, and we get picked off trying to steal third (pitcher anticipated the steal and never even threw to home) and then we tried to take home plate on a wild pitch that wasn't nearly far enough away.
It went downhill after that... wasted a fine 8 innings of work by Maxwell
