Glass half-full outlook on the baseball season

While the guys over at have certainly not been shy about their feelings on what's been going wrong with the Frogs in their recent funk, they've done some research and compared this year to seasons past and come to the conclusion that things aren't that bad.

I guess the thing you've got to remember is that baseball seasons are marathons, not sprints- and how you're playing in early April isn't the end-all be-all. Even so, the folks at have started their weekly NCAA Tournament projections, and they've got the Frogs as a #2 seed right now playing in the regional hosted by Ole Miss.

They have Utah as the favorite to win the Mtn. West? Can someone explain that for me?

I'm guessing they've got Utah as the projected automatic bid just because they are currently in 1st place- I may be wrong, but I think those projections are based on if the season ended right now.

The good news, though, is that they see the MWC getting 3 teams in again.
