On to Austin

What a weekend to be a Horned Frog! The only thing that might have been able to make it better is if the Frogs had been able to beat Aggy at some point, but our maroon & white "friends" hid from us like Anne Frank in the loser's bracket all weekend long.

As it was, though, I'm not sure I'd change a thing. Lupton Stadium was packed with purple for all three of TCU's games, and the crowd really got into it. Players and coaches from Wright State, Oregon State and TCU all mentioned that the crowd's energy definitely helped push the Frogs over the top. That was especially true in last night's game, when the fans & players continued to feed off each other as the team came back from an early 4-0 deficit.

While Jason Coats' clutch game-winning hit on Sunday night was the cherry on top of this Sunday, Aundre Dean's commitment was the shot of brandy poured on top of the cherry. What? You've never included booze in your ice cream sundaes? This is a big get for Patterson & staff, but there'll be plenty of time to discuss recruiting later...

So now the Frogs will head to Austin for the Super Regionals, where they'll take on the #1 overall seed in the entire tournament & every 8th grade boy's favorite team, UT. The games will either be Friday-Saturday-Sunday or Saturday-Sunday-Monday...I believe that announcement will come out sometime today. In either case, YOU NEED TO BUY TICKETS ASAP. While we're not going to act like Aggy or Sand Aggy fans and claim we're going to take over our opponents' stadium, Frog fans do have a chance to make a considerable presence felt at Disch-Falk this weekend.

TCU is receiving a fairly small amount of tickets for the event, so anyone reading this board is probably not high enough of the TCU Alumni food-chain to get those tickets. I bought mine through UT's ticket office, which you an access at An all-weekend, general admission ticket ($22 each) is about as good as you're going to find without paying the marked-up prices you'd find on craigslist, ebay or stubhub. Seriously, though- if you want to go to these games, don't procrastinate on getting tickets.
