Does Utah deserve a shot at the title?

I'm not going to say whether they do or not. What I will say, though, is that they should at least be part of the conversation...Chris Dufresne of the LA Times apparently agrees with me. I'm preaching to the choir here when I say that the Mountain West is a far, far better conference than most of the country wants to give it credit for. It's good to see someone in the LA media take their USC blinders off for a second to realize that the best college football team west of the continental divide just might be the Utes. The collective play of the MWC this year has turned a lot of heads, but we need to keep turning heads because the next time one of our teams goes undefeated through the regular season, it may be that those of us in purple & white are anxiously waiting to see whether or not we've made the top 2 slots in the final BCS rankings.
